At Parkside Community Primary School, we feel that the benefits that pupils receive from access to the internet far exceed the disadvantages. We believe that a combination of site filtering, close supervision and fostering a responsible attitude in our pupils, in partnership with parents, will ensure children's safety when using these resources.
We teach all children in school about Internet Safety in the ICT and PHSE curriculum. Our children all sign an Acceptable Use Policy for ICT and we expect them to adhere to these rules in line with our behaviour policy. We also take part in Safer Internet Day each February as part of a school-wide initiative to raise the profile of Internet Safety, both at home and in school.
Below are some websites, giving information to parents about how to keep your child safe on the Internet at home. We have also included some websites for children, which contain games and information about Internet Safety.
